Government is Broken

With all the talk of what’s broken in America, it’s time to get to the root of the problem. Our government is broken. Our health care system is NOT broken. It’s just so expensive that many can’t afford it,especially if faced with something of catastrophic magnitude. We need to deal with the cost of health care and keep the best system and care in the world.

There are many reasons why people may not be able to afford parts of their care. Some have no jobs. Some have low-paying jobs. Some experience catastrophic illness or accident. Some change jobs and their insurance doesn’t cover them in the interim. Hospitals charge exorbitant prices for everything used during a stay. Prescription drugs cost way too much.

Let’s deal directly with these issues and not nationalize our health care, putting it in the hands of a group of power-hungry elites who only see you as a dollar sign – a taxpayer. These people don’t have the same view of your life plans as you do. They see a dream for one world government with extraordinary people at the top running everything, experimenting with ideas, all the while enjoying the lifestyle of the rich and famous.

Where do you fit in? You work hard and pay the bills that support their crazy ideas. You’re the subject of their experiments in one-world everything, environmentalism, utopia-chasing and personal wealth building (theirs, not yours).

America has been successful all these years precisely because it championed and protected freedom for every man. It took a while to perfect that concept, but Americans never stopped working towards that goal. And that is the key. Americans truly covet and value freedom for every man. They will never stop working to achieve it.

Now comes along, and gets elected, a group of morons who are hell-bent on taking our individual freedoms away, one by one, in short order. Obama is moving as quickly as possible, before the sleeping giant awakens and throws him and his thugs out.

Is the term, “thugs”, fair? Pick any Obama czar or cabinet appointee you choose and research them. You will find that “thugs” is an accurate description. Obama doesn’t seem to know any honest people.

Don’t be discouraged when you try to read it and give up. Very few have been successful at reading this monstrosity. Even lawyers have trouble with it. Here’s a sample guide that may help. This was emailed around the country and warrants our attention.

From a letter to Sen. Bayh from a practicing physician, Stephen Fraser, MD. Whether this letter is authentic or not doesn’t matter. If you compare the list, page by page, line by line, to the Health Care Bill posted on the government web site, you can see if they are accurate or not.

Take the first one in the letter. Page 22: Mandates that the government will audit the books of all employers that self insure. This violates the Constitutional Right to Privacy, individual liberty and freedom and the right to pursue happiness. If you don’t like IRS audits, you won’t like these, either!

Senator, I guarantee that I personally will do everything possible to inform patients and my fellow physicians about the dangers of the proposed bills you and your colleagues are debating.
Furthermore, If you vote for a bill that enforces socialized medicine on the country and destroys the doctor/patient relationship, I will do everything in my power to make sure you lose your job in the next election.

Pay special attention to the last few which deal with “end of life” orders. How can we do this to our parents and grandparents?! The greatest generation, who built the America we grew up in, who sacrificed, worked hard, defended freedom so we could live happy and free and be prosperous, will now be told by the government when, where and how they will face the end of their life!

It’s the current government that is broken, not the health care system. We must get back to the form of government that our founding fathers worked out and implemented for the good of each of us. It begins with ‘WE THE PEOPLE” AND GUARANTEES THAT WE GOVERN OURSELVES. We are not to be governed by officials. They are supposed to work for us. Currently, they don’t. They decide how we must obey them and their wacky ideas.

God vs Guns

People who have not read the Bible should not pass judgement on others. This newswoman questions the auto dealer's inclusion of God in his motto, "Guns, God and American Pick-up Trucks". He tries to explain it to her to no avail. She asks "What Would Jesus Do?" I wish the dealer had remembererd that Jesus used a whip on the crooks operating in the Temple in Jerusalem. YES, IN THE TEMPLE!

St. Matthew 21:11-13

People who try to use God to oppose war have never read the Old Testament passages, of which there are many, where God sent the Israelites to attack, and yes, kill, other cities. God hates evil, wherever it shows up. He is merciful and works to bring evil-doers to their senses and to repentance, but He does say that he will not strive with man forever. Genesis 6:3 "And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man..." At that point, it can get quite scary! Let's not forget the flood of Noah's day that wiped all but eight people off the planet in God's move to cleanse the planet of evil and start over.

We all need to do our homework and search for truth. Don't be swayed by the news media, believing that they know what they're talking about or that they are correct. Don't form your moral values by giving in to pressure from the media. Anti-gun sentiments run rampant in the news media and in Hollywood, but many of them have not done their homework on this subject. It's political correctness that can be harmful to you and your family without a valid basis.

Can you imagine how today's news media would have reported on Jesus walking into church in a major city, making a whip of sorts and throwing out the crooks, turning over their tables, dumping out their money and yelling at them to get out? The CNN crowd would burst blood vessels in their necks. They would be incensed at such behavior. But the difference lies in priorities. Jesus did what he had to do to impress on the people the need for holiness, righteousness, morality, honesty and respect for God's institution. A corrupt temple was no good to the people, nor to God. His goal was to protect the people from evil.

God does not want his people to be sitting ducks for evil-doers just for the sake of "not owning a gun". What virtue is there in not owning a gun? The very people who demand that Americans be virtuously free of guns, use the most foul language and go very nearly nude in public (bikinis, plunging necklines, short-short skirts, see through blouses, etc.). They want to choose which virtues Americans must adhere to, while excluding those virtues that they do NOT want to live with, such as decency.

You can't take away their First Amendment Right of free speech, no matter how nasty or hateful they talk, but you should take away everyone's Second Amendment Right to own a gun for self-defense and defense of one's home and family.

These people would quickly change their positon if ever assailed by a criminal with a gun pointed in their face! Let's pray it never happens to them.

Stand up for the Second Amendment. As the economy goes down, crime goes up. You are becoming more and more vulnerable with each day of the Obamanation.

JUST SHOW ME THE DANGED LONG FORM BIRTH CERTIFICATE!

Whether or not Obama is a U.S. citizen, I'm surprised at the people who don't care to be sure of it. This is a basic Constitutional protection for U.S. citizens. It prevents our enemies from planting someone in the highest office in the land and protects U.S. from those who don't have American beliefs from becoming our ruler. If we allow anyone to usurp the office of the President and don't even care if he is eligible, then it's over. Nothing else will make a difference.

I applaud those who were willing to suffer ridicule to make sure that the Constitution is upheld. This is just as important to our liberty as any of the amendments. Whether or not someone is eligible to be our president is just as important as any of the issues we are debating. We can walk and chew gum at the same time. We can debate it all.

We all should know by now that "proof" offered by Obama doesn't necessarily close the case. He's not known for being completely truthful when he wants something. Everyone knows how to "Photoshop" documents and Obama hired a technology czar. His campaign caused a lot of the controversy by giving two different hospitals as his birthplace. His grandmother complicated things by stating that he was born in Kenya and she was there. Then Obama refused to release the long form and put this whole controversy to rest. Why not? It's so simple. He could do it today and everyone would drop it. Blame him for the life of this controversy.

Those who say that the State of Hawaii has verified that he was born in Hawaii should read their statement again. All it says it that they have it. They don't say anything about his citizenship or place of birth. In fact, they say they can't comment on any of that. They can only give that information to Obama by law. According to Hawaiian law, he could have been born anywhere and his mother, upon her return, could have filed the information and received a document that certifies that he was born alive. That's all if proves. They had to take the mother's word for the specific information. If he was born in Hawaii, then the delivery doctor would sign the long form. He can release that today and stop all of this. Why not?

Newspaper birth announcements? Did Stanley Ann Dunham or her parents place them there to create a proper situation for a 17-year-old teenager who became pregnant by a 23 -ear-old Kenyan that she barely knew? Who knows? Obama won't clear it up.

As for McCain's staff looking into this, I regard that as little proof. He also thinks he knows enough about cap and trade to be in favor of it. I wrote him during the election and asked him to really research cap and trade because I was sure he'd be opposed to it, if he knew more about it. Nope. He remained in favor of it. So much for his ability to "look into" something.

The documents we have seen include a school record of Obama from Indonesia where he is listed as a Muslim son of Lolo Soetoro named Barry Soetoro. I find no record of Obama disputing this document.

I apologize to those who are aggravated by the controversy and want it to die. I do understand why they would feel this way. However, I can't say that I "KNOW" Obama is eligible to be POTUS and that is a shame. I wrote my Congressman and asked him this question, "Who certifies that a candidate is eligible to hold the office of President?" His reply to my letter avoided that question. So who does certify candidates are eligible? Anyone? Who certified Obama's eligibility and on what documents?

Can anyone say with certainty that Obama is eligible? I can't. And I should know without a doubt according to the Constitution. I want to protect our Constitutional rights. Just show me the long form and I'll be happy.

P.S. The Daily Kos admits that one of their frequent commenters forged a BC for Obama as a gag to show how easily it could be done. He was involved in the debate at that time over why Obama refused to release any BC. This forgery had an anomaly on the top near the center. It was a black mark. It looks like someone accidentally touched a black ink pen to it or there was a black spot on the scanner used. Immediately, a BC appeared on Obama's web site bearing the same anomaly. Coincidence? This was discussed and explained on The Daily Kos which is a very left wing web site.

BIG FAT GOVERNMENT

While everyone’s debating the government take-over of America’s health care system, it should be noted that Obama appointed Nancy Ann DeParle as his health care czar. Who is she? Visit http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31566399. MSNBC is hardly a right wing news org. They’re the home of Chris Matthews who gushed that listening to Obama speak made chills run up his leg! TMI!!!

DeParle headed up corporations who were under investigation for engaging in illegal billing schemes, alleged kickbacks, serious violations of federal quality standards, including one company that failed to warn patients of deadly problems with an implanted heart defibrillator. She ran Medicare for Bill Clinton’s administration.

“Since leaving her government job running Medicare for the Clinton administration, DeParle built a lucrative private-sector career. Records show she earned more than $6.6 million since early 2001, according to a tally by the Investigative Reporting Workshop.

Much of that corporate career was built at companies that have frequently had to defend themselves against federal investigations. After leaving government, DeParle accepted director positions at half a dozen companies suspected of violating the very laws and regulations she had enforced for Medicare. Those companies got into further trouble on her watch as a director.

Now she’s back in government as a leading voice in deciding the shape of health care reform.

Named by Obama in March as director of the White House Office of Health Reform, making $158,000 a year, DeParle is the point person in pushing for the administration’s plans for changing health care and the ways Americans pay for it — changes in which her former companies have a great deal at stake.” Fred Schulte, Investigative Reporting Workshop, American University, MSNBC Online

Does Obama know ANYONE who is honest? Do you see a pattern here? Everyone he appoints to his cabinet or a czar position has a dishonest or shady past, didn’t bother to pay their taxes or is some kind of radical with beliefs that run afoul of American values. Perhaps he identifies with them more than with the rest of us honest, hard-working tax-payers.

He recently said in a televised press conference that he believes pediatricians choose to remove children’s tonsils when it isn’t really necessary, to make more money. (I don’t believe that.) Pediatricians don’t operate, so they won’t make the money, unless Obama was suggesting that they get kickbacks for every surgery they set up for a surgeon. DeParle would know more about kickbacks than our pediatricians.

It’s clear that Obama will use the health care overhaul or take-over to punish doctors and put them in their place, as he sees it. He has attacked insurance companies, placing blame on them for our health care problems, but didn’t he bail out AIG with millions? They supported his candidacy and Sen. Chris Dodd, Democrat., wrote the exemption in the bailout bill that allowed the huge bonuses to be paid to AIG executives.

Pay attention to all of the “studies” being done on obeisity and how it affects our health care costs. The government will use the Obama plan to affect people’s behavior and place extra tax burdens on those who are obese by his administration’s standards. That means that you will be scrutinized and records will be kept on your weight, what it should be, and what you must do about it. What will become of freedom, individual liberty and the right to privacy?

They will increase taxes on smokers, drinkers, race car drivers, athletes, people with dangerous jobs, people who don’t exercise, etc., etc., etc. They are now talking about unhealthy lifestyles costing our system much more. When they’re looking for ways to cut costs, they will use taxes to modify our behavior.

What kind of people will Obama appoint to police our lifestyles? I shudder to think. Doctors may be required to report unhealthy lifestyles. It’s the first line of knowledge and Obama health care is all about controlling costs.

If you love freedom and individual liberty, you’d better fight to keep it, because there is a strong effort to snatch it away by power-hungry people who believe they are smarter than the average citizen. Don’t make the mistake of trusting these people, because they’ve already revealed the fact that they are unscrupulous. Just remember the past transgressions and beliefs of everyone Obama has appointed to office.

YOU should be controlling THEM. Oh wait! Isn’t that what the Constitution says?

What kind of country is America? Are we a nation of whiners with our hands out looking for something from somebody? We never have been. Are we a nation of losers who can’t take care of ourselves? We never have been. Are we a nation of “cradle-to-grave” dependants? We never have been.

This is a nation of greatness because Americans are a unique blend of people from all over the world who live here because we treasure freedom and individual liberty. Not just the “right” to do it ourselves, but the responsibility to do it ourselves – not beholden to anyone. We do it ourselves.

Yes, we help each other, even complete strangers, but it’s still “WE THE PEOPLE”, NOT THE “BIG GOVERNMENT”. Americans don’t walk around with their hand out - asking for something from the government. They walk around with their hand out – giving to those in need. We take care of our own and we pull together. America is the most generous nation on the planet.

The picture being painted of America today is of a bunch of people who can’t take care of themselves and are demanding that the government take care of us. I don’t believe it. This is a false concoction of power-hungry politicians creating a need for their services. Once they get the citizenry on the public dole, they have job security and we can’t get lose.

We will no longer have freedom or individual liberty once we are enslaved by government programs. Our personal lives and health records will be filed in offices in Washington, D.C. So much for the Constitutional Right to Privacy. Then comes the behavior modification. The government powers will decide what we should be doing and what is politically incorrect. They will modify our behavior by withholding something we’ve become reliant upon and/or levying taxes on undesired behavior. These behaviors can be as benign as eating fast foods or drinking sugar-laden soft drinks. (Don’t worry. They will never touch alcohol – just sodas.)

Just say “NO” to government entanglements, I mean, entitlements. Show the current gaggle of politicians what a true American is!

HILLARY DEMANDS INDIA DO MORE THAN U.S.

Hillary Clinton, as Sec. of State representing the U.S., went to India last week and said the following:

“Yesterday’s bombings in Jakarta, Indonesia, provide a painful reminder that the threat of such violent extremism is still very real. It is global. It is ruthless. It is nihilistic and it must be stopped,” she said.

“We have a great sense of solidarity and sympathy, having gone through what we did on 9/11,” she added.

Her voice rising, Clinton insisted that the U.S. demand for international action against terrorist should not be taken lightly.

“We know how important (it is). We are fighting wars to end the threat of terrorism against us, our friends and allies around the world.”

She said India can choose its own way of contributing but must be part of a broader effort to defeat the threat.

“We expect everyone” who shares the U.S. goal of a more stable world “to take strong action to prevent terrorism from taking root on their soil and making sure that terrorists are not trained and deployed” from their territory to carry out attacks elsewhere, she added.”

Just exactly what is the current Obama administration doing to prevent terrorism from taking root here on American soil? Exactly what strong action is Obama taking to make sure that terrorists are not trained and deployed to carry out their attacks right here in the U.S.?

All I can find is that Obama is releasing them, ordering that they be read the Miranda rights of American citizens (which they are not entitled to because they are not U.S. citizens and have not paid taxes for any privileges here), is closing Gitmo as soon as he finds a place to release the terrorists to, is giving some of them trials in U.S. courts which requires their lawyers be given secret information and they can’t be convicted because the crime scene was not processed at the time of their arrest (battle field in war), apologizing around the world for America’s wrong-doing, giving fuel to terrorist recruitment groups, releasing photos and documents of U.S. military torturing terrorists (true or not), cozying up to dictators and America-hating leaders, reducing the military budget while giving trillions to everything else, befriending Muslim activists and supporters of Islam – the very religion that attacked the U.S. on Sept. 11, 2001, doing nothing about Khalifah Conferences in American cities (which recruit activists/terrorists), doing nothing about Muslim schools brainwashing generations of children to hate America and Israel.

The Obama administration is allowing – even making easy, terrorist recruiting, training and funding in this country.

What has Hillary Clinton said to Obama regarding this hypocrosy? What is she doing in America to comply with her demands of India? Nothing that I can find!

And let’s not forget that while Hillary is in India saying, We are fighting wars to end the threat of terrorism…” , Obama changed the name “War on Terrorism” to “Overseas Contingency Operation!!!!!!!!!” How absurd!!!!!

It’s “do as I say, not as I do.” It’s talk for the cameras and sound-bytes, not for U.S. policy and actions. Remember these things when it’s time to vote again. Throw out the double-talkers and deceivers. Put America on the right track.
